Police and the Kids Taskforce

The missdorothy.com and
Watch Over Me programmes
are designed to be delivered by the teacher and supported by the local police, whose representatives can take part in the appropriate safety lessons whenever possible. This not only adds interest for the young people, it also helps to build valuable community relationships at an early age and makes children aware that the police are there to help them and keep them safe.

The messages in the police lessons have been thoroughly researched with police services across the UK and cover a broad spectrum of issues relevant to school age children as detailed below:

» Roads policing
» Extremism & community cohesion
» Respect agenda
» Anti-social behaviour
» Knives
» Domestic violence
» Guns
» Gangs
» Forced marriage
» Diversity
» Safer Schools
» Child protection
» Internet safety
» PRU’s

The Association of Chief Police Officers is committed to reach every child in the UK with the learning programmes by 2010. ACPO President Ken Jones has nominated the Kids Taskforce as his charity for the duration of his presidency.
